Shirvan are always geometric and highly stylized rugs, decorated with one or more medallions and other, smaller motifs, as well as distinctive borders.
In the West, Shirvan rugs are very sought-after because the authentic ones are rare and at the various auctions by Christie’s and Bonhams they are sold at quite high prices. This particular piece is at least 60-65 years old.
